Well, this is blog post has been a long time coming!
Last month, I participated in my first ever book event. It was hosted at my alma mater St. Joseph's College in Patchogue by their English Society and it was amazing! A lot of great speakers were there with a lot of great books, and the people running the whole thing couldn't have been nicer or more professional! However, the highlight of the night was getting to talk to the people who came to look at the books and who happened to show up to my table. Writing is hard, publishing is even harder, and indie publishing is- to put it lightly- a beast. It is lonely, it is slow, and it makes you think about quitting every time you log on to KDP and see nothing but zeros in your account; what keeps you going is the little moments when you get to meet people, have an honest conversation with them and feel the energy they have to share with you. I can only hope I get to do more events like this one!
Anyway, some updates!
I am, as ever, a busy little bee. I have spent the last few weeks hunched over my keyboard working on my next couple of novels and will hope to have a hard release date for book #2 by next month. I'm just working on some edits and revisions, and I'm very happy with the progress I have made so far! I put out a call to artists this past week on my social media for cover designers, and I'm still looking through the responses. I was blown away by all the replies! You're all so talented, and I'm so unworthy! I love seeing everyone's art!
I'm also- eternally- working on getting some audio content out (shut up, Dawson), but I will post more about that when I have something concrete to share.
Well, that is the long and short for right now. I can't wait to be back with more! I am going to put more effort into updating this more regularly.
Cheers for now!
